The opportunity to work with customers. I’ve been in customer service my whole life. At Enterprise, I started out as a greeter, which was perfect for me since I’m a people person.
My coworkers treat me as if I don’t have a disability and I can do anything anyone else can do. I also love the collaborative team environment. Everyone works together really well.
I’m a Customer Service Agent, so most days I’m sitting at a desk, answering phones, and working on a computer. When I first started as a Greeter, the job involved a lot more walking – greeting customers, walking them to their cars, and showing them key features of vehicles.
My interactions with customers. I enjoy having regular customers come in every week. They expect to see me and I’m excited that we’ve built a connection.
Since I’ve had my disability since birth, I’ve learned to adapt to my surroundings, so I haven’t needed a lot of accommodations. I know that if I do need anything I can ask and my managers will be willing to help. One example was that they allowed me to stand and greet customers while other employees moved cars, as I’m not able to drive a car due to not being able to move my feet.
Not to let anything get me down. We all have bad days, but it’s important to stay positive.
Don’t let your disability get you down. Enterprise will see what they can do to enable you to work – whether it’s having you sit at a desk or greet customers in your wheelchair. Enterprise will work with you to make you successful.
Enterprise became the first global vehicle rental business to commit to the Valuable 500 international disability inclusion pledge.
At Enterprise Holdings, we put a high value on diversity and strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone can be their best.
