As Vice President of Global Strategic Sales, what excites you about this new opportunity?

What excites me the most about this role are the endless opportunities ahead.

What are the biggest areas of opportunity?

Our world-class customer service, account management and standard business practices are what set us apart, and it will be this team’s job to showcase to our customers the unique offerings we have.

What are your thoughts on leadership, and what advice would you give new managers?

As a new manager, it’s often easy to over complicate things or bite off more than we might be capable of handling. I think what’s most important is to prioritize your initiatives and keep things simple. Your employees need to know and understand your goals and how they contribute to the business. It is also important to recognize your employees when they achieve success in their role and help them take ownership when things aren’t going according to plan. Overall, you’re a significant influence on the success of your people, and you should want your employees to have your role! Helping them achieve success offers new opportunities for your career.

Can you tell us more about your career path?

MIke with American FlagI’ve been with Enterprise for 17 years. I started as an intern in Colorado in 2002 and then became a Management Trainee in 2003. From there, I worked my way up the Rental ranks, eventually becoming Director of Business Rental Sales in New Mexico in 2007. After three years there I was promoted to Director of Business Rental Sales in Houston. In 2013, I took on a new challenge as AVP of Business Rental Development for Team Canada and then later for the South Central team. I was promoted to Vice President of Business Rental Development in 2018 before taking on my current role.

Tell us something people may not realize about you.

I’m an avid skier. Growing up in Colorado, I got on my first set of skis at the age of three and have been a fan ever since. At 12 I tried snowboarding and still do both today. I also have two young children and when I’m not spending time with them, I enjoy golfing, watching sports and spending time in the Rocky Mountains.
