Shortly after graduating from Hampton University, I started my career in the Management Trainee program in Virginia. As a Management Trainee, I gained hands-on experience while learning about the foundation of our organization, how to work with new business partners, and ways to serve my community. After a few years in Rental operations, I took advantage of an opportunity in a new department, now known as the Replacement & Leisure Division (RLD). I held various roles in the Virginia RLD, from Account Representative to Account Supervisor and Sales Executive. In each role, I had the opportunity to strengthen my network (internally and externally) and solve problems for our Replacement business partners and customers. In 2021, I capitalized on an exciting opportunity to join the Entegral team. I started as a North American Customer Success Manager (CSM) with Entegral and have recently been promoted to Senior CSM. I am fortunate to continue working with business partners in the Insurance and repair segments, helping to create efficiencies in our industry. How are you reflecting on International Women’s Day this year? When it comes to women’s empowerment, I adhere to the principle of ‘Lifting as We Climb’. I aim to empower others just as my valued mentors and friends have empowered me throughout my career. I stand behind the girls and women who are setting out on their journey to achieve their dreams. Given the opportunity, the impact they can have in their respective fields and industries is both exciting and limitless. Describe your career path with Enterprise Mobility.   My career at Enterprise Mobility started in 2008 when I became a Management Trainee. Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with individuals who possess a variety of leadership styles. At some point during my time as a Branch Manager, an opportunity opened up on the Business Rental team. While unsure about the various career paths available, I decided to take a leap of faith. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. As a Senior Strategic Account Manager, I am fortunate to be doing what I enjoy most about my job, which is working with exceptional individuals, continuously expanding my personal and professional growth, and ultimately, having fun!   What does Black History Month mean to you?   To me, Black History Month represents a time to reflect on the extraordinary achievements of Black people who have shaped the world we live in today. It is the chance to discuss the hardships, triumphs, and contributions of Black people who have influenced the modern world. The older generations sacrificed everything to ensure a better life for the next generation. I would not be able to have the life I live if it were not for those sacrifices, I’m forever grateful.       Is there a Black leader, past or present, who inspires you?   One Black leader who inspires me is Madam C.J. Walker.  She is a symbol of determination, innovation, and empowerment. She overcame adversity to become the first self-made female millionaire in the United States, despite being born into poverty as the daughter of former slaves. Her entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to uplifting Black women through beauty and haircare products, and commitment to philanthropy resonate deeply with me. She demonstrated that success is achievable through hard work and vision, even in the face of systemic barriers. Her legacy inspires me to pursue my dreams fearlessly, support others in their journey, and contribute to building opportunities for future generations.  What keeps you at Enterprise Mobility?   What keeps me at Enterprise Mobility is the people. Their support, collaboration, and friendships have been integral to my experience. It has reminded me that work goes beyond achieving goals and completing tasks. It's about fostering meaningful relationships and being part of a team that respects one another. I am inspired and motivated by the people around me, and their genuine concern makes every day meaningful, contributing to my passion for what I do.  What is the best career advice you’ve received? The best career advice I ever received was to be authentic and stay true to my values. This suggestion greatly influenced my career path by reminding me that being genuine is a strength. In today's world, it's easy to face pressure to conform or make compromises, but holding on to my identity and principles has allowed me to form meaningful relationships, make honest decisions, and pursue a career that matches my passions. This advice has shown me that success isn't only about achieving objectives, but about accomplishing them in a way that is consistent with my beliefs and allows me to be my genuine self. You've done it! You've landed an interview that will help you advance in your career. This is an exciting time, but there's work to do. If you want to maximize your chances of success, you need to be fully prepared before entering the interview. This will help you be confident in your answers and make a strong impression of who you are and what they can expect from you. Here are five things that you can do before an interview to help you stand out and increase your ability to land the job: 1. Research the Company One of the most critical things you can do before an interview is to research the company you're applying to. Not only will this show that you're genuinely interested in the role, but it will also allow you to tailor your responses to align with the company's values, culture, and needs. By demonstrating that you've done your homework, you prove your commitment and enthusiasm for the position. Start by learning about the company's mission, products, services, and employees. Check their social media platforms and recent news articles to see if there are any initiatives they are involved in. Additionally, use websites such as Glassdoor to get a better understanding of the company's environment and former employees' opinions. 2. Review the Job Description When reviewing the job description for the position you're applying for, pay attention to the specific skills and qualifications the employer is seeking. Highlight the essential responsibilities and skills on your own resume and evaluate how your background aligns with the requirements. Reflect on past or current experiences that you can draw from and discuss how you have achieved success in those areas. As you analyze the job description, take note of any frequently used buzzwords or phrases. These can provide you with insights into what the company values most and help you structure your responses in a way that directly addresses those needs. 3. Practice Common Interview Questions During an interview, you're likely to be asked several common questions, including: "Tell me about yourself." "Why do you want to work here?" "What are your strengths and weaknesses?" "Where do you see yourself in five years?" Practice your responses to these questions out loud. You can do this in front of a mirror, record yourself, or have someone listen to your responses. Doing this will help you avoid stumbling on your responses, ensure that you can articulate your points with confidence, and convey your passion for the role. Remember to keep your answers clear and concise! 4. Prepare Your Questions Always prepare at least two questions to ask at the end of your interview. This aligns with your research of the company and its operations, and it can help to solidify your brand during the interview. It demonstrates your interest and appreciation for the company and the interviewer. Here are some examples of questions to ask: "What does success look like in this position?" "How would you describe the company culture?" "What opportunities are there for professional development?" "Can you tell me about the team I would be working with?" Avoid asking questions that are self-explanatory, easily found, or that the interviewer has already answered. Your questions should be based on your interest in the position, your long-term career goals, and how you could fit into the company. 5. Plan Your Outfit and Logistics It's crucial that as you prepare to talk the part, you also look the part! Consider the company culture when deciding what to wear. A corporate setting would require more business formal attire, while a creative or tech-based industry may appreciate business casual attire. If you're unsure, it's best to choose the business formal route. Lastly, always confirm the date, time, and location of your interview. Plan your route and anticipate any traffic delays to ensure you arrive on time. If you have a virtual interview, ensure that you have a quiet space with minimal distractions, good lighting, and that your equipment (camera, microphone, and internet connection) is working correctly. Test your video conferencing platform and make sure you have the proper application available. The more prepared you are for an interview, the more you will impress the interviewer and increase your chances of landing the job. Remember these five basic steps: research the company, review the job description, practice your responses to commonly asked questions, prepare your own questions, and arrive on time and looking polished. In less than a year, she was promoted to Assistant Branch Rental Manager at the Ottawa International Airport. Hanna's unstoppable success continued as she received multiple promotions across the region. In 2021, she took on the challenge of being an Area Manager in Winnipeg, overseeing a mix of rental locations both in urban and rural areas. But that's not the end of Hanna's journey. She saw an opportunity to elevate her career even further when a Talent Acquisition role opened up in Central Canada in 2024. Hanna knew this was her chance to shine and make a difference in a new way.

Meet Mike F., Vice President, who shares his Enterprise Mobility journey, thoughts on Black History Month, and what keeps him at the organization. Get a glimpse into Mike's impressive career and his positive experiences being part of Enterprise Mobility. Can you describe your career path with Enterprise? I began my career in the Daily Rental sector of Enterprise in Dallas, TX, where I became a Branch Manager, overseeing three different locations. I later moved into Remarketing and spent two years in this position before transitioning to the Fleet Management team as a Remarketing Manager. After working for two years as a Client Strategy Manager, I got promoted to Area and then Regional Sales Manager. I then spent three years in Jacksonville, FL, as a Director before taking on my current role in Arizona. What does Black History Month mean to you? Black History Month represents a time to celebrate and cherish all the leaders, pioneers, and significant events that helped shape our country and current communities. Additionally, it offers an opportunity for people to learn more about the historical contributions and experiences of Black Americans and other minorities. What keeps you at Enterprise Mobility? Enterprise Mobility offers endless opportunities and a culture of people who are committed to delivering the best customer service. I am grateful for the high-performing teams I work with, the enjoyable work environment, and the company's continued growth opportunities. What has surprised you most about working at Enterprise Mobility? At Enterprise Mobility, the core values unite individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, which is unique and unparalleled. I have received two important pieces of advice that have stayed with me throughout my career – networking and being ready for opportunities. Inclusion and allyship are essential in creating a supportive and welcoming workplace for employees with disabilities. Mackenna, who started as an Intern and quickly worked her way into an Account Support Representative at Enterprise Mobility, tells us about her experience living with a hearing and speech disability and the support she has received from her team and leadership. Here, she shares valuable insights into what colleagues can do to help eliminate barriers to inclusion, as well as her favorite aspects of working at Enterprise Mobility.  What do you want others to understand about your disability and its impact on your life? Although it may seem that I am able to hear and speak well, I have to make a conscious effort to pay close attention to speakers when they talk. This can be exhausting because I constantly feel like I need to have my brain on to stay engaged. By the end of the day, my speech tends to become slurred because when I'm tired, it’s difficult to focus on the things I'm not strong in, like my speech.  What are some barriers to inclusion that others can help eliminate? When someone thinks I did not hear something that they or another co-worker said, I encourage them to pull me into a private meeting or message me. It can feel discouraging when someone gets frustrated that I didn’t hear what they tried to tell me. Sometimes when I ask them to clarify, they brush it off and say never mind. This frustrates me because I want to be mindful of what others are trying to tell me and be able to have conversations. If you see me trying to decipher what you’re trying to say just message me and let’s carry on the conversation.  What initially attracted you to Enterprise Mobility? I lived my whole life in auto body shops. My dad owned his own mechanic shop for over 40 years, and I watched him work on cars, build his own vehicles, and much more. He even built me a go-kart from scratch when I was five years old! Did I crash it into every fence and tree I could find? Yes. However, my dad always told me that he didn’t want me in the automotive industry because it would be too dangerous. While in college, I created a LinkedIn profile for one of my classes, which led to a job at Enterprise Mobility. Sarah, a Talent Acquisition Specialist, contacted me and encouraged me to apply for an internship. I applied to the job and got it! I drove to my dad’s nursing home to share the news with him as soon as I found out. I was so excited that I was able to find a loophole to get into the automotive industry. Even if it’s not exactly what my dad did, I still feel closer to him because of it. He was so proud when I told him the news. I ended up piloting a program in which interns start at the airport as part of the “best of the best” program and then transition to a home city location.   What sets the organization apart as an employer? Finding reasonable accommodations has been a struggle for me at other companies. When my role with Enterprise Mobility moved from the airport to a home city location, I was anxious about answering phone calls due to my disability. However, my Generalist Manager, Gina, quickly put my worries at ease. She knew I had a disability and proactively reached out to me and asked if there was anything she could do to assist me. I mentioned a closed caption phone but forgot to follow up with her due to the volume of emails and reservations at that branch. A week later, I was surprised to receive an email from Gina informing me that I could expect my new device in a few weeks. She went above and beyond to research and provide the accommodation I needed. This showed me that the organization values its employees and is committed to helping us succeed. I have experienced this level of commitment from both my current and previous teams. I will always be grateful to Gina for being the first person to ever go above and beyond for me like that.  What do you like the most about your job? Developing camaraderie with the team is my favorite aspect of the job as it's fun to get to know each other! I also love helping customers, and when they show their appreciation, it makes me feel like I did my job well and provided a smooth experience for them.  How has your team and leadership supported you during your career at Enterprise Mobility? My team and leadership have been supportive by providing me with the necessary tools to succeed. For instance, both teams that I have worked on have provided closed caption phones and phone systems. Whenever I’ve indicated that I need additional accommodations to perform my job effectively, management has been more than willing to help me obtain the necessary support.   What advice would you give someone with a disability interviewing at Enterprise Mobility?  Although it may feel intimidating, I encourage you to take that step and interview at Enterprise Mobility! The company is accommodating and welcoming to all employees. My experience working at Enterprise has been nothing but positive. What type of individuals are most successful at Enterprise Mobility?  The most successful individuals have an entrepreneurial spirit, are driven, and have a great work ethic.  What would you tell someone looking to join your team?  Regardless of your background, we will coach, train, and develop the skills you need to run your business successfully.  What excites you about your future at Enterprise Mobility? Enterprise Mobility’s benefits have given me the opportunity to start a family. Imagine walking into a big, crowded networking event. Does the idea of this thrill you or frighten you? Conversing with a large group of people can feel intimidating and forced for many. However, networking is a crucial element that can enhance your career progression and job opportunities, during both favorable times and challenging times. To put it in simpler terms, networking involves building positive relationships with people you get to know. Once you start thinking about networking differently, you will realize that you can make meaningful connections daily. If you lack a strong social network or don't know where to begin, this brief guide can help you get started. Building relationships is your focus. Networking is a way of getting to know someone. It requires building a relationship with that person through reciprocity, not outright asking for a job. As you grow your professional connections you want to be authentic and considerate and only ask for advice or recommendations. Think you don’t have a network? You do. When you have a group championing you, your efforts are multiplied. Because people will conduct business with those they know, trust and like, you need to build a network that is uniquely suited to you. Make a list of everyone you know. Include family members, colleagues, former co-workers, friends, friends of friends, neighbors, and even casual acquaintances. Consider people you know from your university, professional and volunteer organizations, the gym, sports teams or clubs, social media connections, and potentially even your child’s school. You will have a longer list than you envisioned in no time. Start making contact. Before you start making contact, know what you want and how to ask for it. Are you seeking a referral, an informational interview, or an introduction? Then, be specific in your request. Let them know you are looking for a job. Give them a little information about the industry and role you are seeking. Then, ask if they know anyone in a relevant field. Your contacts may surprise you with who they know. If you feel embarrassed or scared… Remember, people like to help others and give advice. And most people know what it is like to be looking for work. By gaining connection and emotional support from others, you help avoid feeling stressed and alone in your job seeking process. Maintain your network. Once you are comfortable and begin to build your connections, it is important to remember to nurture the important relationships you make. Be sure to schedule time together to meet for coffee or lunch or make a regular appointment to talk on the phone. If you follow someone on social media and see they have been promoted or recently graduated, congratulate them. If you hear about an event and think one of your contacts would benefit from attending, pass them the registration information with a little note. There are so many easy ways to show people you have them in mind. The bonus: you will stay top of mind with your contacts when they have something to share with you. Networking is a lifelong process and a skill that you can grow and develop at any time. Who from the Hispanic or Latino communities exemplifies a pioneering spirit? Benito, known as "Bad Bunny", exemplifies a pioneering spirit for his recent achievements. His dedication to the Hispanic culture, Spanish language, and amplification of voices in our communities to create social and political change has earned him multiple historical accomplishments.What advice would you give your younger self? I would tell my younger self: "Be kind to yourself; you are doing great. I am extremely proud of you. Thank you for never giving up on us." Who has inspired you on your Enterprise Mobility journey and why? Giannina C. is my colleague and has been my inspiration for being an excellent motivator and representing Latino women extremely well. Her extremely passionate character makes her who she is, and I will be forever grateful for her unwavering support and encouragement. Do you have a favorite tradition as you celebrate your heritage? In the village where I grew up in my home country (Peru), there is a celebration called "San Juan". The village praises a saint, and for this celebration, the entire family gathers and makes a typical dish called "Juane". This is a tradition that my family still carries, and I hope to continue this celebration for many years to come as a family tradition.
