Compliance & Ethics

Doing Business Ethically

At Enterprise Mobility, our focus on compliance and ethics is core to how we do business. More than 65 years after our organization was founded, respect, dignity and customer service continue to fuel our success.

Guiding our growth from the very beginning, we’re inspired by our Founding Values and Jack Taylor’s timeless credo to “do the right thing.” Those cornerstones have enabled us to build a dynamic global network of people working together to move mobility forward.

We hold ourselves to high standards of business ethics and responsible conduct to maintain a strong reputation with customers, business partners, suppliers and team members. We make our Founding Values and Code of Conduct available to everyone externally on our corporate website and provide annual training to team members.

Our approach to Supplier Diversity helps increase the number of diverse businesses – including minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned and other socially or economically disadvantaged small businesses – that supply goods and services to the organization. We also provide tools and assistance for team members to responsibly identify, select and do business with new suppliers.

The Supplier Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for organizations to maintain high standards of quality, integrity, excellence, safety, legal compliance and respect for human rights.

Enterprise Mobility endeavors to uphold and support human rights across its global operations and supply chain. The Human Rights Statement outlines our efforts as an organization to maintain a business that is safe and fair for all workers and free from discrimination and harassment as well as forced labor, including child labor, any forms of modern slavery or human trafficking. We prioritize relationships with suppliers that share the organization’s values and commitments regarding human rights and expect suppliers and business partners to uphold the same standards.

As a multi-generational family-owned business, Enterprise Mobility strives to operate with future generations in mind. This forward-looking approach guides our sustainability program as we strive to manage environmental risks, promote a responsible supply chain and support the health and safety of team members. Read the Sustainability Statement.

Enterprise Mobility strives to protect the privacy, confidentiality and security of customers through comprehensive and proactive data privacy, security and training programs developed from industry-accepted best practices. These programs are based on Generally Accepted Privacy Principles (GAPP) guiding principles and the Information Security Forum (ISF) Standard of Good Practice.

Organizational, physical and operational security is maintained by a full-time staff of credentialed professionals with defined roles and responsibilities covering all information privacy and security specialties. These programs cover policies and procedures such as Privacy Principles, Global Privacy Framework, Corporate Information Security Policy, Data Classification Policy, Enterprise Security Framework, Privacy Incident Response procedures, Employee Privacy policies and other internal policies governing the collection, use, sharing and retention of data.

Our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and risk-scoring parameters help leaders regularly evaluate risk in their areas of responsibility. The ERM Process is an ongoing approach that aims to identify, assess, prioritize, prepare for and track new and emerging risks to the business. The ERM Process is administered by the Corporate Risk Management department and provides a single mechanism to share potential enterprise-wide risk management and mitigation strategies with Enterprise Mobility’s leadership.

Enterprise Mobility implements policies and practices intended to help protect and improve the well-being of team members, customers and communities. We are striving to:

  • Support human health and safety through safety and hazard training programs, injury prevention communications and compliance assurance.

  • Provide a safe work environment designed to prevent accidents, injuries and occupational illnesses.

  • Encourage team member participation and accountability through training and communication to support compliance and reduce injuries.

  • Reduce environmental risks from organization operations by maintaining management systems for fuel system, product storage and waste and recyclables as well as emergency response training programs.

At Enterprise Mobility, safety is a top priority. Branches are notified of preventative maintenance and vehicles in need of service are taken to appropriate service providers. Enterprise Mobility receives regular updates from auto manufacturers alerting the operations of any vehicles that are subject to a safety recall. When a vehicle is identified, a mandatory hold is activated in the rental management system until the applicable repair or remedy is provided and completed.

Enterprise Mobility is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status or any other protected category and will not be discriminated against based on such characteristics. We work hard to create a work environment that:

  • Respects differences in the backgrounds, experiences and perspectives of each other, customers, suppliers and business partners.

  • Prohibits discrimination against a team member or applicant for employment based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status or any other status protected by law.

  • Does not tolerate intimidation, harassment, abuse, bullying or retaliation of any sort.

Enterprise Mobility does not tolerate corruption or bribery. As appropriate, we communicate these expectations to team members globally through the Code of Conduct, standalone Anti-Corruption Policy and related compliance training.

We formalized our Compliance and Ethics Program in 2015 to transparently communicate our standards and commitments to team members, corporate partners and customers. As appropriate, team members receive annual compliance training. Team members with questions regarding our corporate policies or who have encountered potential misconduct are trained and advised to contact the Ethics Hotline as referenced in the Code of Conduct

Enterprise Mobility works with franchisees who share our values and strive to uphold high standards of quality, integrity, excellence, safety, legal compliance and human rights as well as show respect for the customs and culture of the communities we serve. We also encourage franchisees, where possible, to take voluntary steps to reduce their operations’ environmental impact. To help promote a common understanding of what is expected of franchisees, we have developed a Franchisee Code of Conduct. All Franchisees are expected to understand this Code and adhere to its spirit and intent.
